Within a few months of the launch, cracks have appeared in the top editorial team of RPG Group’s OPEN magazine. Deputy editor C.P. Surendran is leaving the magazine that launched in April and has been generally received well, going by anecdotal evidence. Surendran confirmed the development, saying: “I’m looking for a very good job at a sane place if one exists”.
The cryptic comment piqued our interest, but Surendran declined to speak further. Editor Sandipan Deb declined to comment.
Prior to joining OPEN, Surendran was the resident editor of The Times of India in Pune and has spent 17 years with the Times Group. He has published four books including the novel An Iron Harvest.
