India TV Joins Back NBA; Self Regulation Back In Business

Posted by admin on Jul 17, 2009 in Digital Media News
Rajat Sharma’s India TV has agreed to join back the News Broadcasters Association (NBA), a voluntary coalition of news channels that had formed a self regulatory body—News Broadcasting Standards (Disputes Redressal) Authority. The channel had quit NBA after the Authority, headed by former chief justice of India, J.S. Verma, imposed a Rs1 lakh fine following a complaint by one Farhana Ali that the channel had incorrectly dubbed in Hindi an interview she gave to Reuters. The self regulation mechanism was put in place after eager signs from the government that it would step in to regulate news channels. India TV’s walkout from NBA had thrown the whole process into jeopardy and many feared it would give the government just the right excuse to regulate news channels.

iTunes Blocked Palm Pre? Sync It Again

Posted by admin on Jul 17, 2009 in Digital Media News
If you own a Palm Pre, you know that you could sync your music with your Palm Pre via iTunes. But With the release of iTunes 8.2.1 Palm Pre syncing with iTunes is broken (so far only Mac users.) Well you have few options to make it work again. There is a third party workaround DoubleTwist Salling’s Media Sync is a simple application which eschews the social aspects of DoubleTwist and just sends music, podcasts and photos to almost any USB connected device, including the Pre. Media Sync sends photos from iPhone or Aperture and music and podcasts from iTunes. It also replicates the whole structure of playlists and the playcounts of individual songs. The only thing it won’t do is copy over DRM’d music, but if you ever bought copy protected music from iTunes that’s your own fault.

Rakhi Ka Swayamwar – Fake Or Reality?

Posted by admin on Jul 17, 2009 in Digital Media News
I am not sure how many of you watch "Rakhi Ka Swayamwar" but I do watch it. At first, I thought it would be a stupid show and and Indian adaptation of English TV reality show "The Bachelor". When I watched the show where Ashwin was asking Rakhi about her past and entry of Abhishek into the show, I thought he was asking the right questions. I really thought that Rakhi would have someone who she wants to really marry in the show and in the end she will choose him. But now that none of the contestants are known to her, I really doubt if she would marry anyone or not.
